STAR appoints Anthony Day as EVP-Strategy & Development

STAR has announced the appointment of Anthony Day as Executive Vice President-Strategy and Development. Based in Hong Kong, Day will report to Paul Aiello, Chief Executive Officer of STAR.

In his new position, Day will be responsible for expanding the scale and scope of STAR’s core broadcasting activities, and for identifying and driving new opportunities. Day will also work with STAR’s regional offices in managing its portfolio of joint ventures.

On the new appointment, Aiello said, “Anthony has a wealth of experience in developing and managing growth, and in working through complex transactions across a variety of industry sectors. We will draw upon his experience and commercial acumen in leading his division to engineer long-term growth and success.”

Anthony has been based in Hong Kong for 16 years. He joined STAR in November last year as a Consultant, facilitating specific expansion initiatives in South East Asia.

Day said, “Over the past year, I have enjoyed exposure to the highly challenging environment within which STAR operates. STAR is a progressive and vibrant operation, and I am thrilled to be working with the team here. Certainly there is no shortage of exciting opportunities across the region for us to develop.”

Prior to joining STAR, Anthony was General Counsel of the Hong Kong-based and Singapore-listed Noble Group, a global trading house; he was also Chairman of Noble’s Senior Management Committee. Before that he practised law as a Partner and department head at a leading international maritime and commercial firm, Holman, Fenwick & Willan.
