StanChart appoints new consumer banking and credit card chiefs

Standard Chartered Bank has appointed Anindo Mukherjee as the Head, Credit - Consumer Banking, India and Nepal, while R L Prasad has been promoted as the General Manager, Credit Cards and Personal Loans, India, the bank has stated in a statement.

These appointments are expected to further strengthen Standard Chartered’s position in India and complement the expertise of the local management team.

Commenting on the appointments, Neeraj Swaroop, CEO, Standard Chartered Bank, India said, “Standard Chartered is committed to attracting and developing talented people and providing the skills and resources necessary to succeed across its diverse markets. India represents significant growth potential and I am confident that these new appointments will take the business to its next level.”

Murali M Natrajan, Head, Consumer Banking, India and Nepal said, “Prasad’s talent, expertise and background are tailor-made for our growth plans for the credit cards and personal loans business in India. Anindo, in his new role, will drive and strengthen the risk management capabilities of the consumer banking business.”

Mukherjee is a chartered and cost accountant, with over 10 years’ experience in India. He started his career with Dunlop India, followed by a 10-year stint in retail risk management with ABN Amro and HDFC Bank. Mukherjee has extensive knowledge of all aspects of retail lending, including large business banking, commercial transportation and healthcare portfolios.

Prasadin, his new appointment, will be responsible for driving growth and profitability of the credit cards and personal loans business in the country. He had started his banking career in 1992 with Citibank India. Since then, Prasad has handled various positions in credit policy, sales, collections and business development in the cards and consumer finance businesses. Prasad joined Standard Chartered Bank in April 2005 as Senior Risk Manager for Credit Cards and Personal Loans for India.
