Shishir Gupta joins HT as Deputy Executive Editor

Shishir Gupta has come on board as Deputy Executive Editor, Hindustan Times. He will be working on special stories out of Delhi as well as other centres. Gupta will also be contributing to HT’s digital properties. He will be reporting to Sanjoy Narayan, Editor-in-Chief, Hindustan Times, and also work closely with Delhi Resident Editor Sudeep Mukhia.

Gupta has 19 years of experience. He started his journalistic career with Indian Express in 1992, where he worked for four years before joining Hindustan Times. He was with HT for five years between 1996 and 2001, after which he moved to India Today. His last assignment was with Indian Express, where he was Editor, Express New Service since 2006. He also headed the National Bureau (both Political and Business) at Express for three years.

Gupta has also authored a book, ‘Indian Mujahideen - Enemy Within’, and is a member of the International Institute of Strategic Studies, London.
