RK Swamy/BBDO Executive Director S Narendra calls it a day

S Narendra, Executive Director, RK Swamy/BBDO, has called it a day at the agency after a four-and-a-half-year long association. He was heading the agency's social and development cell. Prior to joining RK Swamy/BBDO, Narendra had been Information Advisor to four Prime Ministers - A B Vajpayee, I K Gujral, Deva Gowda and Narsimha Rao.

Confirming this to exchange4media, Narendra said, "My experience with RK Swamy has been exceptionally good. The agency and the founder members have been committed to causes like social development, and working with this team has been a fruitful experience."

Narendra has been responsible for setting up the social development division in the agency and had initiated projects like girl child trafficking, TB control, etc. Though he is stepping down as ED, Narendra will continue to assist the agency as a consultant.

Ajit Shah, Executive Director, said he would be taking care of Narendra's functions for the time being. However, he said that R Krishnan has been promoted to the post of General Manager and will be heading the social development cell.

Narendra has also been Director General, DAVP, during a 40-year-long career in the field of communication, broadcasting and advertising. "I intend to write a book on social marketing, communications and my experiences while working with the Government of India as an official spokesperson," he said.
