Rediffusion Y&R elevates Minakshi Achan to Chief Creative Officer

Minakshi Achan will be co-chairing the Chief Creative Officer position at Rediffusion Y&R. Achan, who is currently responsible for the creative as well as business output for Rediffusion Y&R’s South offices, will now take on a national role and partner Sagar Mahabaleshwarkar as Chief Creative Officer.

Commenting on Achan’s elevation, Rohit Misra, President, Rediffusion Y&R, India & Sri Lanka, said, “With her successful handling of all our South offices, Minakshi has clearly demonstrated that she can take on a larger responsibility. I believe the team of Sagar and Minakshi will add momentum to the level of creativity within the organisation, accelerating our creative evolution and enhancing our creative product.”

On her new role, Achan said, “Rediffusion has an outstanding talent pool across the board, and I look forward to working with all of them.”

She has been with Rediffusion Y&R for nearly a decade, having successfully headed the creative team in Bangalore before being assigned to lead creative for all the South offices. Achan eventually took on the dual role of EVP and ECD for all Rediffusion Y&R’s South operations.

Prior to Rediffusion, she was with JWT and Leo Burnett. With over 16 years’ experience, she has handled diverse categories ranging from FMCG products to financial services to fashion, consumer durables to computers to retail. Some of the brands she has worked on include ING, Standard Chartered, Romanov, Bagpiper, Mcdowell’s Signature, Red Label, Taj Mahal, Lipton Yellow Label, Louis Philippe, ITC, Van Heusen, Burnol, Lacto Calamine, and Sun Micro Systems, among others.

During the course of her career, Achan has also won numerous international and national awards, including driving Rediffusion Y&R Bangalore to winning Agency of the Year two years in a row at the Ad Club Bangalore Awards.
