Ramesh Srivats heads to B’lore as Rediffusion South Head

Rediffusion has roped in Ramesh K Srivats to replace the outgoing Head of Southern Operations, Mahesh Chauhan. Srivats, who has been currently serving as the Associate Vice President, JWT Delhi, would relocate to Rediffusion Bangalore for the official handover of responsibilities scheduled around April 20.

“I have decided to join Rediffusion as their South Head,” Srivats confirmed the news. “I found the opportunity very exciting. Rediffusion South has a very good team and is working with a number of good clients. I’m moving to a place that is doing well and this gives me the opportunity to take it further,” he added.

In his new role, Srivats would entail the complete management of Rediffusion’s operations in the South – that of its Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad outfits. “My focus would, of course, be on growing the business, but I believe sustained growth comes from a combination of extending present businesses and pursuing new opportunities,” he said.

With the exception of a short stint in the US, Srivats has spent his entire career with JWT. Joining the agency (then HTA) in Mumbai in 1992, over the years, he has served at different positions within the agency including his current post as AVP at JWT Delhi. And, having spent a considerable number of years at the agency’s Bangalore branch, Srivats is no is no stranger to the city.

The senior-level vacancy at Rediffusion was created following a chain reaction of sorts. Chauhan, who is currently heading the agency’s Southern operations as VP, had put in his papers in March and would be heading to Bombay as the new President, Everest. Announcement of his resignation came close on the heels of erstwhile Everest President Prabhakar Mundkur’s departure.
