Radio City appoints Nik Martin as National Programming Head

Radio City has announced the appointment of Nik Martin as its new National Programming Head. Martin comes in the position left by Vikas Verma, who has joined 9X Music, the music channel from INX Media. Martin will be heading the creative team and will lead all national programming initiatives, besides working on the programme mix for Radio City’s upcoming stations. He will be based at the head office in Mumbai.

Expressing her delight on his appointment, Apurva Purohit, CEO, Radio City, said, “With his tremendous experience in this space, Nik brings on board the knowledge, expertise and best practices of the international radio industry.”

“Being a world class organisation, it is taking the lead to offer a differentiated enriching listening experience to the consumer through its innovative pioneering initiatives,” observed Martin.

Martin brings with him more than 22 years of radio experience including programme management positions at major UK media groups including Capital Radio, EMAP and BSkyB. His previous international work includes roles at Mediacorp (Singapore) and Channel 4FM (Dubai), where he was part of the launch management team for the first private radio station in the UAE.
