He has taken over the post from RV Rajan, a 65-year-old veteran who has been in the advertising business for over 43 years, out of which he has been involved with rural marketing and communication for 33 years. Rajan will, however, continue as the non-executive Chairman of the company.

Says Sam Balsara, CMD, Madison World, “Rajan has been a veritable institution in rural marketing and I am glad he has kindly agreed to make himself available to the Anugrah team, whenever required. His contribution to rural marketing and Anugrah Madison has been immense for which I am grateful.”

Rajan, who is currently also President of the Rural Marketing Agencies Association of India, said, “Apart from the advisory role at Anugrah Madison, I will continue to teach rural marketing in management institutes and hopefully contribute more articles on rural marketing issues to business journals. I am also working on a ‘Practical Guide to Rural Marketing’.”

He started his advertising career as a Management Trainee in Clarion Advertising, Mumbai, from where he moved to FCB Ulka, Mumbai, as Group Manager. After a 10-year stint in advertising in Mumbai, where he handled several national and multinational clients, he joined Anugrah in 1988 as Director-Client Services.
