PepsiCo brings on board D Shivakumar as Chairman & CEO, India region

PepsiCo has appointed D Shivakumar as its Chairman and CEO for India region. He has quit Nokia as Managing Director in March this year.

In his new role, Shivakumar will be responsible for PepsiCo's India region, which includes beverage brands such as Pepsi-Cola, Lay’s potato chips, Slice mango beverage, Kurkure snacks, Tropicana juices and Quaker Oats. In addition to this, he will also oversee NourishCo, PepsiCo’s joint venture with Tata Global Beverages and franchise businesses in Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka and the Maldives.

In another development, the beverage company has also elevated Gautham Mukkavilli as Senior Vice President, Business Transformation - AMEA (Asia, Middle East and Africa). He will take charge of his new role from March 1, 2014 and will oversee a range of strategic initiatives in both foods and beverages across Asia, Middle East and Africa. Mukkavilli is currently General Manager, PepsiCo India Beverages.

Both Shivakumar and Mukkavilli will report to Sanjeev Chadha, CEO- AMEA, PepsiCo.

In the course of his career, Shivakumar has also worked with Hindustan Unilever and Philips Consumer Electronics India.
