People Group appoints Aditya Shastri as CEO for People Pictures

People Group has announced the appointment of Aditya Shastri as CEO of People Pictures, which is the film production division of the Group that was announced recently. Prior to this, he held the CEO’s profile for the Corporate Division of UFO Moviez in India.

Anupam Mittal, CMD, People Group, said, “People Pictures is going to be one of the major thrust areas for us in the future, and I am happy to welcome Aditya into its fold. Our vision for People Pictures is to turn it into one of the leading creative houses in the Indian film Industry. With Aditya’s vast experience in filmed entertainment business, I am sure he will be a key asset to the company.”

Commenting on his appointment, Shastri remarked, “People Group is now looking at revolutionising the filmed entertainment space as well, after the online space. As CEO of People Pictures, I look forward to manoeuvering the company towards becoming a creative power house that will produce films, and be actively and creatively involved from the inception stage to finally seeing it on the big screen.”

Previously, Shastri has also held the position of COO for UTV Motion Pictures and has over a decade’s experience in film marketing and production.

An official note added, “People Pictures will be looking at making any genre of films which would be content-driven, keeping in mind the change in audience mindsets in today’s India. People Pictures is working on a slew of films currently, and is set to commence four major projects over the next 18 months.”
