Nitin Kalra to join Rajshri Media as VP-Content Sales and Marketing

Nitin Kalra, who had floated the public relations agency The Communique, has decided to move on to the client side. Kalra is joining Rajshri Media as Vice-President, Content, Sales and Marketing, and will close down the operation of his PR firm.

Kalra has been involved with Rajshri Media, which is the digital arm of Rajshri Productions Company, as a consultant for content development since February 2005, and currently drives the mobile business of the company. From April 1, 2006 he will be joining the company full-time and will be responsible for the company’s digital business.

Kalra started The Communique in January 2003, and during its tenure, the agency catered to over 85 clients, including some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry like Sony Entertainment Television, Universal Music, singer Pankaj Udhas, Rajshri Productions, Nimbus Communications, CRU India, FreeSpirit Entertainment, T-Series, and music director Anu Malik among others.

Kalra started his career as a freelance journalist in 1996, writing for publications like The Times of India, The Indian Express, The Pioneer, Deccan Chronicle, The Record Music Magazine, etc. He has also worked as Content Head for musik121.com, an initiative of Pankaj Udhas during 1999-2000, and then went on to launch The Communique in 2003.
