NEW Vivek Sharma joins rmg david as Managing Partner

rmg david has strengthened its leadership by appointing Vivek Sharma as Managing Partner. Sharma moves from the Ogilvy network where he was National Head of the Unilever business. Sharma will give cross-category business and marketing perspective along with key account management skills in his new assignment.

Sharma has over 10 years of marketing experience at Cadbury and Warner Lambert. As Head of Marketing at Warner Lambert India, he successfully launched ‘Clorets’ in India, in addition to boosting the existing business of ‘Halls’ and ‘Chiclets’. After a stint of four years at Warner Lambert, he moved from the marketing side to advertising at Ogilvy & Mather, Mumbai, where he led a portfolio of businesses across categories on clients like Cadbury, Hindustan Lever, Asian Pains, Onida and Mattel.

Josy Paul, National Creative Director and Country Head, rmg david, said, “We’ve had a fantastic year and we are looking for a booster rocket. I’m glad we found Vivek Sharma. He will add immense value in the area of business, strategic planning and marketing towards creating successful brands. Goodman also mentioned that R Narayan, rmg david’s current Head, is moving on to spearhead two key Ogilvy corporate initiatives – Ogilvy Dakshin and Channel Planning group. “He has done a great job within rmg david and I am glad he is bringing his energies to bear on these new tasks,” he said.

Last year was a great year at rmg david. It won some high profile businesses like Singapore Tourism, Singapore Airlines and Emami among others. The agency also won almost every international award – the One Show Pencil, Young Guns, New York Festival, London International and was placed third at the Abbies in 2004.The year also saw it win its first EFFIES for Alpenliebe Lollipop.
