MY FM on expansion spree; makes national appointments

Synergy Media Entertainment Ltd (SMEL), a fully owned company of the Bhaskar Group, is on an expansion spree, for its radio station 94.3 MY FM. SMEL has recently appointed Bharat Sharma, Nilesh Kadam and VP Singh for the FM venture. At the same time, Vishal Singh, Station Director, Jaipur, has moved on to take higher responsibility as Regional Head for North and East, in Delhi.

Sharma and Kadam have joined MY FM as Head-Sales and Marketing, South in Bangalore, and Head-Sales and Marketing, West in Mumbai, respectively.

Harish M Bhatia, Business Head, 94.3 MY FM, said, “We are coming up with new stations every other day and need promising people who understand the radio business, and hence can handle and expand it. We are happy to have Bharat Sharma, Nilesh Kadam and VP Singh in the team. Vishal’s performance in Jaipur has been commendable; I am sure he will soon show similar results in North and East.”

Sharma has 12 years’ experience in marketing and sales, out of which he has spent around seven years in media. His last stint was with Radio City Bangalore as Marketing Head, Corporate Sales. Kadam has also worked with companies like Mid-Day, India Today and Radio One.

VP Singh has joined as Head for Technical Transmission in Delhi. He brings on board 21 years of experience in media, and has also worked with All India Radio and Doordarshan. He has worked as Technical Director for Doordarshan in Leh.

Vishal Singh brings in nine years’ experience in marketing and sales in the media sphere. He has worked with The Times of India, Radio Mirchi and Sify. After handling MY FM Jaipur, he now moves on to the new role as Regional Head for North and East, in Delhi.
