MTV Networks India reshuffles senior echelon, brings in new members

MTV Networks India has made quite a few changes in its senior management and has also brought in new members to the senior echelon. Announcing the developments, Alex Kuruvilla, Managing Director, MTV Networks India, said, “The backbone of MTV has always been its people. We have hired the best in the business and have promoted key people who have helped guiding MTV attain the number one position it enjoys today.”

In the new picture, finance functions are being headed by Ranjan Narayan, who joined MTV from Star News. Narayan holds experience in different aspects of finance and accounting, spanning over a decade. He was a part of the senior management team to launch India’s first 24-hour news channel Star News in a record time.

This appointment comes on the heels of the movements made for the kids’ channel Nick from the network. As was reported by exchange4media, Sonia Chowdhry joined as Head Programming for the channel and Sameer Mazgaonkar stepped in to take charge of Nick’s All India Ad Sales as Group Account Director. His previous experience included stints with Cartoon Network, ESPN and B4U among others. Another appointment that MTV has made is of Ranjith Rajasekharan as Associate Director, Marketing for the Network. Prior to this, Rajasekharan was employed with Ten Sports.

In the senior management squad, MTV’s Head of Creative and Content, Cyrus Oshidar moves up from Vice President to Senior Vice President, Creative and Content, MTV Networks India. And, Sanjev Hiremath steps up from Vice President to Senior Vice President, Network Development, South Asia (Licensing & Merchandising), MTV Networks India. From taking care of MTV sales team in the South, Vijay Subramaniam moves to Mumbai as Group Account Director, MTV Ad Sales, West and South.
