In continuation to adding people across its offices, McCann Erickson has appointed Sujit Unni in its Bangalore office, as Creative Chief. Unni comes from Euro RSCG, where he has worked on the Reckitt Benckiser business in both the Mumbai and Delhi offices. He will assume his new role by mid-May 2007 and will report to Prasoon Joshi, Executive Chairman, McCann Erickson India and Regional Creative Director, McCann Erickson.

Commenting on the appointment, Joshi said, “I have had the opportunity to view Sujit’s work keenly when we were together in O&M. I have high regard for his immense talent and looked forward to work collectively. The opportunity has presented itself now and I have confidence that Sujit, with his expertise and passion, will lead and elevate our Bangalore creative product to an even more stimulating and revitalized platform.”

Unni has spent over a decade in the industry with spells at TBWA, O&M and Euro RSCG. His work has straddled across categories like media and entertainment to financial and advisory services. The brand roster he has worked on comprises STAR India, Tata Motors, Playwin, Castrol, ICICI Bank, Harpic, MindTree and Good Year amongst others.

On his decision to join McCann, Unni said, “Bangalore specifically has a big collection of global brands and the opportunity to work on these businesses itself is huge a challenge and that excited me. In addition to that, Prasoon is a brand himself and I am really looking forward to working with him.”

Unni’s work has been recognised at various award forums like Abbys, Young Guns, Adfest and Cannes.
