Starcom IP has appointed Ambika Tiku as Business Director and Market Leader for India. Tiku is moving from Lowe India where she was Head of Digital. The agency simultaneously announced that current Starcom IP India Leader Hari Shankar will be moving into a product-focused regional role.

Starcom IP recently also appointed Sankalp Bala as Group Head in its Mumbai team. He moved from GroupM Interactions where he specialized in Search Engine Marketing.

Commenting on the appointment, Pushkar Sane, General Manager, Asia, Starcom IP, said, “Hari has stabilized our India operations over the last year or so and has built a robust and committed team. As he prepares for a new role, I am excited that Ambika is coming on board to lead our team. She comes to us with a combination of strong foundation and rich digital experience on both client and agency sides. As we evolve our product from largely Internet driven to include mobile marketing and technology applications, we are looking forward to Ambika taking the Starcom IP offering to a new level.”

Said Tiku about her new role, “I was fascinated by Starcom IP’s vision of creating digital connections that captivate people. Starcom IP has been focusing more on a consultative digital solutions approach rather than cookie-cutter answers. I’m excited by the opportunity.”

Tiku has experience of different aspects of digital marketing including strategy, creative, technology and media. She brings has over nine years of experience -- seven of them in the digital space -- with a combination of client, media owner and agency stints. Tiku is an MBA from the University of Nottingham and is likely to join in the last week of June.
