Flashed Yesterday: Joy Chakraborthy to join TV Today Network as CEO

Putting all speculations to rest, TV Today Network (TVTN) has announced the appointment of Joy Chakraborthy as the CEO of the company. Chakraborthy assumes charge at the company on December 1, 2011.

In an internal communiqué, Aroon Purie, Chairman and Editor-in-Chief, India Today Group, said, “I am pleased to inform you that after careful consideration we have identified a successor to former TVTN CEO, G Krishnan. Joy Chakraborthy, whose last role was that of Executive Director, Revenue & Niche Channels, Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (ZEEL), will join us effective December 1, 2011 as CEO, TVTN.”

exchange4media readers would recall that Chakraborthy had resigned from his duties at ZEEL on October 22, 2011.

In his mail, Purie said, “I am sure his experience and energy will prove to be very valuable for TV Today and the India Today Group.”
