Dentsu Communications appoints Norimichi Uno as Resident Director

Dentsu Communications has announced the appointment of Norimichi Uno as Resident Director of the agency. He will be based in Bangalore. Uno, who is on secondment from Dentsu Inc, Tokyo, replaces Kenji Nogami, who now moves to Dentsu Asia, Singapore.

Uno has been with Dentsu since 1983 and has worked on several prestigious accounts such as All Nippon Airways, Diahatsu, Toshiba and Canon over the years. Uno also has a lot of experience in overseas markets, having worked for eight years in Hong Kong and for two years in Amsterdam.

“Uno considerably strengthens our top management deck in India. He has wide-ranging global experience and brings a lot of maturity to the job,” said Dentsu India Chairman, Sandeep Goyal.

Welcoming Uno to Dentsu Communications, its Executive Director, Ruchira Raina, said, “Uno san will provide leadership to all our Japanese businesses. He has over two decades of experience on leading brands, both in the Japanese domestic market as well as in overseas locations. To strengthen our offering to our global Japanese clients, we have also brought in two more Japanese expatriates, Kato and Ishi to assist Uno. This will give us necessary depth in handling our client commitments.”

Uno’s predecessor, Nogami, was in-charge of the Toyota business in India. He now joins the Dentsu Asia team that handles the Toyota business. Nogami will, thus, continue to be involved in handling Toyota in India.
