CNBC's Anil Uniyal promoted to national sales head

There has been a key promotion within CNBC with Anil Uniyal being promoted from head of sales (West & South) to national sales head.

Sai Kumar, VP, sales & marketing, CNBC, explained the reasons behind the promotion, "We have a new set of channels now and needed to optimise revenues. Uniyal's new position would see him ensure and optimise revenues through all our various channels; news, events, special features, etc. The key is to ensure that the influence that CNBC has built up, is well monetised. He has done a great job in the past and with a great sales team in place that should continue. Eventually, we would want to be India's largest news channel in terms of revenue as well."

Uniyal has been with CNBC for the last four years, having joined the channel in April 2001 as assistant manager. His new designation is effective April 2005. On his part, Uniyal is optimistic about the challenges ahead, "The focus will be on taking revenues further, by concentrating on emerging revenue streams besides the conventional ones to develop customised properties which are tailor made for clients."
