Blyk brings on board Shubhodip Pal as Country Manager for India

Blyk, a leading mobile messaging media, has appointed Shubhodip Pal as Country Manager for its India operations. Pal is a senior consumer-marketing professional with extensive experience of over 14 years in launching, building and managing leading brands in the country.

Making the announcement, Antti Ohrling, Co-founder & Chairman, Blyk India, said, “We welcome Shubhodip to the Blyk fold and look forward to building a successful presence in India. Shubhodip brings with him the right blend of experience and innovation in the consumer space. As a company, we are focused at aligning our resources to deliver great service to Indian consumers. Shubhodip’s vast experience and great consumer insight will help us scale great heights in the dynamic Indian mobile marketing space and help brands reach out to their TG effectively.”

Commenting on his new role, Pal said, “I am extremely excited to be a part of Blyk, one of the most powerful youth brands in the world. Prior to joining Blyk, Pal was Head - Consumer Marketing at Hewlett-Packard India, Personal Systems Group, managing both HP and Compaq brands.

He had earlier worked with ABN Amro Bank NV for two years, where he had managed marketing pan bank across all business units, and also had a nine-and-a-half-year stint with Samsung Electronics India.

Blyk is a mobile messaging media that works with operators to link young people with brands and other stuff they like. Blyk launched its innovative mobile service in the UK in September 2007 and today has offices in Helsinki, London, Amsterdam and Delhi.
