Avinash Pandey joins STAR News as Head, Ad Sales (North & East)

Strengthening its Ad Sales team further, MCCS (Media Content and Communications) has decided on Aaj Tak’s Avinash Pandey to head, STAR News’ Ad Sales function for the North and East region. Confirming this, Uday Shankar, CEO, STAR News divulges, “In addition to this, he would be assisting Probal in executing key strategic national duties.”

Pandey’s assignment at Aaj Tak was that of Senior Manager, Ad Sales. He would be joining STAR News early February and report to the channel’s Sales Director, Probal Gaanguly. Sharing more on this Shankar says, “As is the case with content, we want the sales function also to be such that it attracts the very best in the business. I have seen Avinash’s work closely, during my experience with Aaj Tak and he has a lot of potential to take the news business into a more organised, imaginative and transparent selling level, where both the channel and client benefit.”

Pandey’s appointment comes close to the addition of Nilesh Thakkar in the sales division, where Thakkar has been brought in to take care of special projects for the channels and the western region. These developments follow the decision of STAR News Ad Sales coming in the custodianship of MCCS from STAR India.
