After Puneet Johar, STAR India CFO, G Subramaniam, puts in his papers

G Subramaniam, who took over as STAR India’s CFO in August 2003, has put in his papers and will be serving his notice period till the end of June 2006. Prior to being elevated to take over the role of STAR India’s CFO – left vacant by the exit of Shankar Narayan – Subramanian was the chief financial officer at Digital Platform Group, STAR India’s DTH driver, for two years.

Subramaniam, who is a chartered accountant by qualification, joined the Digital Platform Group in May 2001 as CFO.

Meanwhile, it is learnt that Subramaniam might be heading back to the telecom industry.

Prior to joining STAR, he had worked with the BPL Innovision business group in their telecom ventures, including four years with BPL Mobile, Mumbai as the CFO. He held progressively higher responsibilities in the group, including responsibility for group strategy as AVP, Corporate Strategy. He last headed the Internet and broadband ventures of the group.

This is a high profile exit of a key professional after the departure of STAR India’s Senior VP, Marketing and Communication, Puneet Johar, just last week. Joining the CFO is the network’s AVP, Vidyuth Bhandari, who has also quit the network and has already taken up the position of Interactivity Activation and PR Head at Adlabs Radio.
