Sanjib Dey quits Saatchi & Saatchi; next stop expected to be Law& Kenneth

Sanjib Dey, President, Saatchi & Saatchi, has put in his papers. Based in Delhi, Dey’s responsibilities included a pan-India role. Both Dey and Kamal Basu, CEO, Saatchi & Saatchi, India, have confirmed the development.

Speaking on Dey’s decision to move from the agency, Basu said, “Sanjib was an able partner for me and the agency. I wish him the very best.”

On Dey’s replacement at the agency, Basu said that they were in the process of filling in for the President’s role, but were still in the initial stages to make any announcement in this regard.

Meanwhile, Dey refused to divulge where he was headed next. All he said was that he was taking some rest and also contemplating on other opportunities. However, as per the industry grapevine, it is believed that Dey’s next destination is Law & Kenneth, where he is joining at a senior level.

It may be noted that in 2009, Dey was elevated as President, prior to which he was Executive Vice-President, Saatchi & Saatchi Delhi. He had joined the agency in March 2007. Before that, he was with Lowe Delhi as Senior Vice-President. He has more than 11 years’ experience in the business. His previous stints have been with agencies like Capital, Enterprise Nexus and Grey India.

Over the years, Dey has worked on various brands such as MTS, Bharat Petroleum, Hyundai, Mother Dairy, Tata Tea, Panasonic, Radico Khaitan’s 8 PM and Magic Moments, Sony Handycam, Revital, Aviva Life Insurance and Pepfiz, among others.
