Rejig at UTV: Keith Alphonso appointed as Biz Head for Bindass

UTV Broadcasting has appointed Keith Alphonso as Business Head for Bindass. Alphonso comes from Zoom, where he had spent over two years in the ad sales function. Prior to Zoom, Alphonso was with MTV India.

He joins Bindass on March 22, 2011, and would be reporting to M K Anand, CEO-Broadcasting, UTV. UTV officials have confirmed this development to exchange4media.

Nikhil Gandhi, who was so far the Business Head of Bindass, would continue as Ad Sales Head for the Network and would also be Business Head for UTV’s upcoming mass specialty channel.

As is known, UTV is in the process of launching three more channels. Two would be movie channels, adding to UTV Movies, World Movies and UTV Action. Sameer Ganpathy is the Business Head on the movie channels cluster of UTV Broadcasting.

The third is a mass specialty channel, which will come under Gandhi’s charge.

All the three channels are expected to launch in 2011.
