Param Saikia has joined JWT Malaysia as CEO, replacing Subhendu Mukherjee, who is relocating to JWT Indonesia as Strategic Planning Director. This was announced by Michael Maedel, President, JWT Asia Pacific.
In his new role, Saikia will partner with Edwin Leong, Deputy Chairman/ ECD. He is taking charge from January 2011.
Commenting on Saikia’s appointment, Maedel said, “Param’s 20-plus years of industry experience, coupled with his ability to deliver business results and build up digital offerings for agencies, makes him invaluable as we continue to grow our business in Malaysia.”
Saikia moves from iris Worldwide, where he was CEO of their India operations. He had started his career in the industry with JWT Delhi in 1987. Since then, he has been on the Executive Committee of Grey, McCann, Euro RSCG and Publicis, servicing blue-chip clients such as Nestlé, Coca-Cola, HP, Perfetti, Bacardi GM, Gillette, Intel, MasterCard, Sheraton, and Reckitt Benckiser, among others.
