Gaurish Pathare has joined Marathi daily Sakal as Head of Advertising Sales for its print business. Prior to this, Pathare had worked with Mid-Day Infomedia Ltd. as National Head of Sales for its print and digital businesses. At Sakal, Pathare will be in charge of national and local markets and will be reporting to LS Krishnan, Business Head (Print).
Commenting on Pathare’s appointment, LS Krishnan said, “Gaurish is known in the media industry. We are delighted to have him in our team. I am sure he will use his varied experience and skills to achieve many milestones for us. He will lead our sales team in national and local markets and be responsible for revenue growth for all the print titles.”
On his new assignment, Pathare said, “I am excited to be a part of Sakal Media Group. Their brands set a high editorial standard and are respected by the readers. I am looking forward to leverage that equity to deliver value to the advertisers and agencies and build a long term relationship with them.”
Pathare has spent more than 16 years in the field of media. From working in a media agency to a media company and being part of a large advertiser’s media team, he has done it all. He had spent eight years at Mindshare Fulcrum, where he worked on Hindustan Unilever brands. Later, he moved to handle GroupM’s clients Onida, ICICI, Vodafone, HSBC, and so on. He has also worked in BCCL’s Magazine division, where he handled brands like Femina and Filmfare. From there he moved to Reliance ADAG’s media team, where he was one of the core members.
Sakal Media Group’s print titles include Sakal newspaper, Saptahik Sakal in Marathi, Agrown (agro daily), Tanishka (woman’s magazine in Marathi), and Premier (film magazine in Marathi).
