Radio One has announced the elevation of its key team members, starting with Rajeev Bhandari, who is now COO, moving up from National Sales Head. He will now be the Business Head of Radio One and will continue to report to Managing Director Vineet Singh Hukmani.
Rajesh Ranjan and Eathesham Azam have been made Station Directors of Delhi and Kolkata, respectively. Arun Sequeira has been promoted as National Head, Retail Sales, while Saurabh Sehgal now becomes National Head, Corporate Sales. Hukmani said, “Both these gentlemen are experts in their chosen areas and will now lead the sales charge in a focused and innovative manner across our seven-city sales teams.”
Meanwhile, the company recently de-centralised its city-based operations, paving the way for better performance at the city level. Sabina Sanghvi, Station Director Pune, has been given the additional responsibility to develop the education sector. Station heads across the seven cities have been promoted to station directors.
Among other senior elevations is Shyju Varkey, who has been promoted to Vice-President, Marketing. He will also continue in his role as Station Head Bangalore.
Commenting on these developments, Hukmani said, “We have outgrown the market in growth and our operating profits are stronger than ever before. We have also monetised innovation and developed stronger value. We have had the highest growth rate in listenership in IRS. This has given our team more confidence to take on elevated roles and responsibilities. We have elevated crucial team members who are going to take our company to the next level.”
He further said, “Attrition levels recorded have been lower than 4 per cent. There is nothing more satisfying than seeing our existing people grow into newer and larger responsibilities, and together we will take the company to the next level of profitability.”
Radio One operates in seven cities – Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata, Bangalore, Ahmedabad and Pune.
