Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation invites EOI to maintain public conveniences

The Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation (CCMC) has invited expression of interest (EoI) from reputed and experienced companies to operate and maintain identified public conveniences (utilities) in lieu of advertisement rights. Interested parties who have adequate outdoor advertising experience and exposure or who have experience of maintaining and operating toilets with any government or corporate body can submit their bids up to November 9, 2010.

Successful bidders shall be allowed to display advertisements on these utilities covering a total display area of 3,404 sq. ft. The contract shall be awarded for a period of three years.

Under the terms, the applicants should have an average annual turnover of at least Rs. 2 crore during the last three financial years. Further, the applicants will have to raise funds themselves and they will not be allowed to rely upon the financial strength of any other entity, even if it falls under the same management.

Successful bidders shall be allotted 26 pay-and-use public conveniences, out of which, 24 public conveniences are to be redesigned and 2 public conveniences are to be reconstructed. In addition, 4 public conveniences are to be newly constructed at specified locations.

The earnest money deposit (EMD) required for this tender is Rs. 6.5 lakh which will have to be submitted in the form of a demand draft drawn in favour of the Commissioner, Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation. The demand draft should be payable at Coimbatore.

A pre-proposal conference will be held on October 28, 2010 at 4pm to answer queries from the prospective bidders. The queries can be communicated to the CCMC by fax or e-mail as well.

The EoI proposals should reach the office of the Commissioner, Coimbatore Municipal City Corporation, Big Bazaar Street, Town hall, Coimbatore, latest by 3:00pm on November 9, 2010.

The tenders will be opened on the same day at 4pm.
