Prabhu Chawla to host talk show from Jan 15 onwards; ‘Ask Prabhu’ shifted to

Prabhu Chawla, Editorial Director, The New Indian Express, will be back on TV from January 15, 2011. Speaking to exchange4media, Chawla said that he had signed a deal with a channel to host a talk show. He, however, refused to divulge the name of the channel.

As is known, Chawla used to host the talk show ‘Seedhi Baat’ on Aaj Tak. After his departure from the India Today Group, MJ Akbar, Editorial Director of India Today - English and India Today – International, is hosting the show.

In another development, Chawla’s column ‘Ask Prabhu’ has now been shifted to Chawla said, “I have received an overwhelming response in a very short span of time from the readers for this column. They have asked me many questions and I have tried to answer all of them. I am happy that without any promotion I have got such a good response so far.”

When asked whether readers asked him questions on his featuring in the Niira Radia tapes, Chawla replied, “I got very few questions on this topic even when I was with the India Today Group. Viewers and readers know what is true. Everybody knows that she called me and I just spoke to her. I did not say anything wrong.”

Chawla has answered nearly 50 questions so far through his column ‘Ask Prabhu’. He further said, “I try to reply all queries in my column with the principle – Fear None, Favour None – which I had been taught when I was in media school.”
