IMPACT celebrates industry’s young achievers

In an attempt to recognise future leaders and inspire young talent across the advertising industry, including creative and media agencies, IMPACT has initiated Top 30 Under 30 – a celebrated list that recognises Young Turks.

The jury came together on January 18, 2013 to spot the best talent. The distinguished jury panel included:

Ajai Jhala, CEO, BBDO India
Ajay Gahlaut, Executive Creative Director, Ogilvy & Mather India
Anupriya Acharya, Leader, Client Leadership, South Asia, Mindshare Fulcrum
Arun Iyer, National Creative Director, Lowe Lintas & Partners
Avinash Pandey, COO and CRO, MCCS
Debraj Tripathy, MD, MediaCom India
Gayatri Yadav, Executive Vice President, Marketing and Communication, STAR India
Harish Shriyan, COO, OMD
Kartik Sharma, Managing Partner, Maxus
Lara Balsara, Business Development and Diversification Manager, Madison World
Malvika Mehra, National Creative Director, Grey India
Raj Nayak, Jury Chair and CEO, Colors
Santosh Padhi, Co-Founder and Chief Creative Officer, TapRoot India
Suresh Balakrishna, CEO, BPN Worldwide India
Vishakha Singh, Executive Director, Aurora Comms

This initiative received a total of 148 entries, which were shortlisted to 116 entries and then to 50 entries. A final list of 30 was then culled out. The jury expressed that the quality of entries was exceptional in spite this being the first year of the initiative.

Commenting on the initiative, Raj Nayak, CEO, Colors and IMPACT Top 30 Under 30 Jury Chair said, “It is a great initiative by IMPACT to recognise upcoming talent. It is good to spot them when they are young and then inspire them to be the future leaders.”

In a marketplace as dynamic as India, spotting new talent is indeed difficult. The jury members explained that the initiative is a smart one for it not only gives an opportunity to youngsters to bring their talent to the fore but also inspires others who plan to enter the field.

Nayak stated out that every agency and organisation needs to motivate new-comers. “To nurture young talent, recognise talent at the organisation level by awards. The winner of that award should then be nominated for such industry initiatives. It inspires young talent even more,” added Nayak.

The coveted Top 30 Under 30 list will be revealed soon. Watch this space for more…
