exchange4media Group’s annual flagship initiative – ‘exchange4media Conclave 2009’ – is all set to bring the best minds from the advertiser, media agencies and media owners domain to discuss the road ahead for the Indian media and advertising industry. The Conclave theme this year is ‘Thriving in Challenging Times’. The event kicks off on June 3 in Mumbai and on June 5 in Delhi. The exchange4media Conclave is presented by STAR News.

The Conclave is designed as a platform that brings together all stakeholders of the Indian media, advertising and marketing domain, with the single objective of charting out a definitive roadmap for the industry.

In the 2008 edition of the Conclave, the focus was on media owners’ side of the business. The discussions saw publishers and broadcasters slug it out with media planners and buyers and advertisers as to what could steer the growth of the various sectors. The exchange4media Conclave 2008 was a four-city initiative – in Delhi, the Conclave focussed on Print; in Mumbai the spotlight was on Television; in Bangalore it was on Digital, while in Kolkata, Radio was under the scanner.

In 2009, the topic of discussion has been widened to bring in the advertiser and the media agency services point of views. Given the current economic scenario, the Conclave would look at ways in which the three key stakeholders of the Indian media and the advertising industry can discuss global case studies and ways to collaborate to ensure growth.

At the exchange4media Conclave 2008, NDTV’s Dr Prannoy Roy had said, “The exchange4media Group is an important source of information and has proved to be an important platform for news on the media industry covering issues like the Broadcast Bill and Content Code. I would like to congratulate everyone involved for making exchange4media what it is today. On a platform like the exchange4media Conclave, we hope to address the key points on distribution and the bottlenecks caused predominantly by the cable networks. I also hope that in the various panel discussions, we would discuss ways to improve our audience measurement and viewership system. I look forward to reading about the discussions and the decisions taken at this common platform.”

The exchange4media Conclave was first held in the year 2003. The platform has been used by Government officials, industry veterans and future leaders to make important policy announcements, take stock of the industry, and pave the way forward.
