Bharti Airtel has appointed NDS to provide a suite of digital broadcasting solutions for the launch of its digital satellite service. Airtel will be utilising the VideoGuard conditional access, MediaHighway middleware and customised electronic programme guide from the NDS stable. Bharti Airtel had announced recently that it was granted the Letter of Intent by the I&B Ministry, licensing the new DTH platform. NDS is a technology solutions provider for digital pay-TV.

An official communiquĂ© from NDS added, âVideoGuard is currently securing TV content in 78.6 million set top boxes worldwide. Through these NDS solutions, Bharti Airtel gains the flexibility to introduce future enhancements including interactive applications and additional advanced services for subscribers.â
