Aaj Samaj and India News Haryana maintain leadership positions

Aaj Samaj was an unknown name for readers in Chandigarh, Panchkula, and Mohali. Launched on December 20, 2009, the newspaper claims to have scaled the top position on February 28, 2010. The circulation of the daily in the PCM region (Panchkula, Chandigarh and Mohali) is claimed to be at 76,000, while its closest competitor in the same region, Dainik Bhaskar, has 64,000 subscriptions.

Aaj Samaj recently expanded its reach in the region with the launch of its Ambala edition.

Meanwhile, India News Haryana, an initiative of Information TV Pvt Ltd, has scaled the No. 1 position (TAM Ratings for the PHCHP region for week 11), beating all regional channels in the region.

The channel, which was launched on September 26, 2009, has been receiving accolades from all over Haryana following the coverage of the Haryana Assembly elections in 2009. The news channel claims to have left even some national news players behind during these Assembly elections (TAM ratings for week 43 of 2009).
