BARC WEEK 28: Asianet, Colors Kannada, SUN TV, Star Maa retain top positions

Colors Kannada, Asianet, SUN TV, Star Maa retained their top position this week too, according to the Week 28 data released by the Broadcast Audience Research Council of India (BARC).
SUN TV bagged the first position in the Top 10 channels across genres, Star Maa moved to the fifth position from third position in the all genre category.

Kannada
Colors Kannada retained first place with a viewership of 414 million impressions, Zee Kannada came in second with 331 million impressions, while Udaya Movies climbed to third position with 210 million impressions followed by Udaya TV with 209 impressions. Star Suvarna came fifth with 156 million impressions.
In the program category Colors Kannada bagged the first 4 positions, ZEE Kannada’s Comedy Khiladigalu Championship came in the fifth spot.

Malayalam
Asianet continued to dominate in Week 28 securing the first spot with 303 million impressions. Flowers reclaimed their second spot with 87823 impressions pushing Surya TV to the third position. Asianet Movies climbed one position up clinching the fourth spot followed by Mazhavil Manorama.
In the Malayalam program category, Asianet bagged all the five spots.

Tamil
Market leader in Tamil GEC, SUN TV bagged the first spot with 984 million impressions followed by Star Vijay with 442 million impressions. Zee Tamil came in the third position with 431 million impressions. KTV retained its fourth position with 294 million impressions.
Colors Tamil which was in the fifth position in Week 27 couldn’t find a slot in this week. SUN Life made an entry to Tamil GEC Top 5 channels bagging the fifth spot with 70755 impressions.

In the program category SUN TV’s supernatural prime time serial Nandini continued its dominance with 12230 impressions. Suriya starrer Singam 3 movie which was telecast on SUN TV bagged the second position in programme category.

Telugu
Star Maa retained its first spot with 534 million impressions followed by Zee Telugu with 473 million impressions. ETV Telugu came third with 404 million impressions followed by Gemini TV with 394 million impressions. Gemini Movies came fifth with 195 million impressions.

In the program category first two slots were bagged by Star Maa. Zee Telugu bagged the third spot with Mudda Mandaram and ETV Telugu’s Oxo Lit Kidz Dhee- 10 bagged the fifth place.
