Nikhil Madhok likely to head Star India's new GEC

Star India is all set to launch a new general entertainment channel that will offer premium content to the audience.

The news of the impending launch has been confirmed to exchange4media by a source close to the development. Star India, however, did not respond to a mail seeking confirmation of the news.

The channel is likely to be headed by Nikhil Madhok, who returned to Star India last December. He has been appointed as Head, Special Projects, Entertainment Business Unit. At Star India, Madhok started as the Head-Network, Brand, and went on to lead the marketing wing. In his previous stint with Star, Madhok was the Business Head of Life OK.

Before joining Star India, Madhok worked in Singapore as SVP and Head of Products, Asia Pacific, at Discovery Networks.
