The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (I&B) has send letters to all MSOs asking them to adhere to the existing rule of mandatorily carrying all Doordarshan (DD) channels on their networks. The cable TV operators have been asked to submit an affidavit stating that they are adhering to the rule.
The step has been taken after it was noticed that several cable operators as well as some DTH operators were not following the law that makes it mandatory to show all 24 DD channels, said I&B Minister Prakash Javadekar. The rule will be implemented strictly, added Javadekar.
