BARC Ratings: ETV Telugu and Dangal TV rise to No.1 spot in Telugu and Bhojpuri markets
In week 41 (October 10 – 16, 2015) BARC released the first set of rural data combined with the previous urban data. In the Telugu market ETV Telugu rose to No.1 spot from No.3 last week, while Zee Telugu slipped to No.3 from No.1. Dangal TV took No.1 spot in the Bhojpuri market with Big Ganga at No.2 spot
In week 41 (October 10 – 16, 2015) BARC released the first set of rural data combined with the previous urban data. This resulted in all channels seeing huge increases in their ratings during this week. With the ratings of all the channels rising, there were some changes in the pecking order in some markets. In the Telugu market ETV Telugu rose to No.1 spot from No.3 last week, while Zee Telugu slipped to No.3 from No.1. In the Kannada market Udaya TV rose to No.2 spot while Zee Kannada slipped down to No.5. Dangal TV took No.1 spot in the Bhojpuri market with Big Ganga at No.2 spot.
Among the Tamil channels (Tamil/Puducherry markets All India U+R) Sun TV’s ratings sky rocketed to 1,092 million this week from 302 million last week. KTV at No.2 spot ratings rose to 337 million this week from 95 million last week. It was followed by Star Vijay at No.3 with ratings rising to 183 million from 74 million last week.
Among the Marathi channels (Maharashtra/Goa markets All India U+R), Zee Marathi was on top with ratings increasing to 116 million this week from 77 million last week. Colors Marathi at No.2 spot saw its ratings increase to 73 million from 30 million last week, followed by Zee Talkies with an increase in its ratings to 55 million from 26 million in week 40.
Among the Telugu channels (Andhra Pradesh/Telangana markets All India U+R), ETV Telugu rose to No.1 spot from No.3 last week as with rural ratings it sky rocked to 424 million this week from 127 million last week. At no. 2, Maa TV’s ratings rose to 370 million this week from 129 million in week 40. Zee Telugu declined to No.3 as its rise in ratings was not quite enough at 316 million this week from 151 million last week.
Among the Kannada channels (Karnataka market All India U+R), Colors Kannada stayed on top spot in week 41 with ratings rising to 211 million from 56 million last week. Udaya TV rose to No.2 spot from No.3 last week with ratings rising to 154 million in week 41 from 39 million last week. Suvarna came in next at No.3 spot with ratings of 153 million, followed by Udaya Movies with ratings of 140 million. Zee Kannada fell to No.5 spot as its ratings grew to 114 million from 47 million last week.
The Bhojpuri channels (Bihar and Jharkhand market C&S 1lakh+) saw the biggest change as Dangal TV took No.1 spot and over took Big Ganga in ratings. Dangal TV was at No.1 with ratings rising to 12 million from 1.5 million last week. Big Ganga slipped to No.2 with its ratings declining to 8.1 million in week 41 from 3.8 last week. ETV Bihar Jharkhand came it at No.3 spot with ratings of 5.9 million. DD Bihar was at No.4 spot with ratings of 3.1 million. Anjan TV slipped to No.5 spot as its ratings declined to 2.6 million this week from 1.3 last week.
Asianet in the Malayalam channels (Kerala market All India U+R) segment was on top with a rise in ratings this week to 413 million from 178 million last week. Mazhavil Manorama was at No.2 spot with a ratings rise to 85 million this week from 66 million last week. Flowers TV took No.3 spot with ratings rising to 77 million this week from 38 million in week 40.
Among the Bangla channels (West Bengal All India U+R) Star Jalsha was on top with ratings rising to 241 million this week from 77 million last week. Zee Bangla came in next with its ratings rising to 160 million from 70 million last week and was followed by Jalsha Movies at No.3 with its ratings rising to 57 million this week from 20 million last week.
In the Odisha market (Odisha market NCCS All, Individuals, All India U+R) Sarthak TV was leading with 86 million this week from 13 million in week 40. Tarang TV was at No.2 spot with ratings of 52 million this week from 10 million last week, followed by Colors Oriya at No.3 with ratings of 19 million. Odisha TV fell to No.4 spot with ratings of 18 million from 3 million last week. Alankar was in at No.5 spot with ratings of 11 million.
