Hindi news channels News24 Broadcast India Limited, part of the BAG Network, is planning a major brand revamp exercise this year.
As per the information available with exchange4media, the idea behind the rebranding exercise is to give the news network a contemporary feel and also build on its fast growing viewership base.
Launched in 2007, News24 targets the global Indian with news that is credible, true and fast. With its tagline, ‘Har Hindustani Ka Channel', News24 believes in the mantra of inclusiveness and targets to empower its viewers.
Commenting on the planned rebranding of the news channels, Anurradha Prasad, Chairperson and MD of BAG Network, said, “When you are in the television business, you are always transforming. The time has come to do a brand evolution again and in the coming months you will see it happening. News space in the last 10 years has changed a lot and we believe in being a people’s first channel and to make it happen it is important to have a view from the public perspective.”
The rebranding will reflect across all the platforms of the network including its mobile and digital properties.
Earlier in an interview with exchange4media, Prasad while describing the shift that TV news channels have undergone over the last decade and the need for a re-imagined approach had stated, “Television is a dynamic medium. I think the news space has already transformed in a big way in the last 10 years as part of the process to stay relevant. For example, today’s news has greater focus on the public perspective than ever before and this transformation is also helping traditional players meet the current demands and stay relevant.”
