Continuing with its youth focus, Hindi newspaper NaiDunia launched ‘YuvaCocktail’, a youth-centric bilingual supplement, on February 13, 2011 in Indore city (Madhya Pradesh). The four-page Sunday supplement carries content on lifestyle, leisure, gadgets, and so on. The daily will soon launch the supplement in Bhopal and Raipur as well.
Speaking on the supplement, Debu Mishra, VP, Sales and Development, NaiDunia, said, “This premium product is specially made for the youth who are more concerned about their lifestyle.”
It may be recalled that NaiDunia had launched a supplement, ‘Yuva’, in July 2010, which is available with the mainline NaiDunia newspaper on Thursdays. When asked why two youth-centric supplements in a week, Mishra replied, “We have got a good response on these supplements. These were proved to be very interactive and participation from the youth made them more popular.”
YuvaCocktail’s content ranges from stories to blogs, debate to travelogues, foodie spots in Indore to homemade recipes, style and fashion to the world of TV, and from funny movie reviews to web sneak peek. Moreover, a full size ‘Poster of the Week’ will be a major attraction.
In a bid to connect with young readers, NaiDunia had launched a newspaper for school children in Indore on November 15, 2010. Priced at Re 1, the eight-paged Berliner was published six days a week and had been launched simultaneously in 20 schools of Indore and was available in the schools on demand only.
Mishra said that for these youth supplements, the group was targeting all advertisers who saw youth as their TG. “If the response to our youth-centric initiatives remains good, we can soon come up with a newspaper dedicated to youth,” he added.
