i-Next turns 1; offers gifts for media fraternity, agencies

i-Next is celebrating the first anniversary of its three newest editions in Bareilly, Jamshedpur and Gorakhpur, from March-end to first week of April 2011. With offers for readers, media fraternity and media agencies, the anniversary specials of the newspaper will run through a week in each of the cities and carry stories on i-Next’s journey so far.

Speaking to exchange4media, Alok Sanwal, Editor and Project Head, i-Next, said, “i-Next has shown triple digit growth in both Bareilly and Gorakhpur over the last IRS quarter, while Jamshedpur has got reported for the first time in IRS 2010 Q4, with a healthy quarter million readership figure.”

For all i-Next stakeholders in the media fraternity, a unique gratification scheme is planned, which will go live through print ads in media publications and e-mailers. All those working in media agencies and corporate and media houses in the metros, who belong to any of the three cities – Bareilly, Gorakhpur and Jamshedpur – have surprise gifts in store for them. All they are required to do is send in an SMS stating ‘<JBG>SPACE<their name>SPACE<city of origin>’ to 57272 and the first 100 entries will be awarded with a special gift from i-Next.

Meanwhile, speaking on the on-ground activities, Sanwal said, “Our on-ground activations like Bikeathon, Health-Meter, Fresh n’ Crazy, and so on, have been getting tremendous response from readers in these markets. The overflow of letters, e-mails and SMSes for our City Calling page in i-Next that covers only user-generated content, bears testimony to the popularity that we are enjoying in these cities.”

An SMS quiz contest about city-centric trivia is currently on in Bareilly, Jamshedpur and Gorakhpur, with attractive prizes to be won on a daily basis. Apart from this, road shows are being held for the anniversary celebrations for the readers and have seen good response from them.

i-Next had turned four on December 22, 2010 with its oldest edition in Kanpur. Sanwal noted that the coming fiscal year promised to be an exciting one for the compact daily with expansion plans into newer markets on the cards.
