Abhijit Dasgupta of India Today passes away

Following a cardiac arrest on January 22, 2011, Abhijit Dasgupta, Deputy Editor, India Today Group, has passed away.

He is survived by his two children, Ujjaini (daughter) and Vinayak (son).

Dasgupta had joined India Today in October 2006 and was working as Deputy Editor, India Today English in Delhi office. He had started his career in journalism with The Telegraph in the year 1982. He will be remembered by all in this industry as a dedicated journalist who had a great sense of responsibility and commitment towards his work. An official mail quoted: “With profound grief we regret to inform about the untimely demise of Abhijit Dasgupta who was the Deputy Editor, India Today. The demise of the extremely talented journalist and editor is condoled.”
