Aaj Samaj to go hyper-local in Haryana; plans 11 editions

Hindi daily Aaj Samaj from Good Morning India Media is all set to expand its footprint in Haryana. The newspaper will go hyper local in the state and plans to launch 11 editions. However, the final date of the launch is yet to be finalized. The developments were confirmed to exchange4media Group by Rahul Dev, Editor-in-Chief of Aaj Samaj.

The hyper local editions of the newspaper will be launched in Karnal, Kurukshetra, Jind, Panipat, Bhiwani, Rohtak, Kaithal, Sonipat, Bagpath and Faridabad. The newspapers will cover the other adjacent areas as well. Recently, the group had launched its Gurgaon edition. Dev noted, “We have got good response with the Gurgaon edition. Hence, we are set to move forward from here. Soon, senior journalists and reporters will also join the newspaper. Also, we are going to beef up the reporting sections of every beat.”

It may be recalled that a few months back, the media group had seen some senior level changes. Rahul Dev was brought on the board as Editor-in-Chief, where he was assigned to take care of both the newspaper and magazine domains. Since then, speculations were on about the group’s possible expansion and increased reach with new launches.
