Times of India’s Managing Editor, Arindam Sen Gupta passes away.
Times of India’s Managing Editor, Arindam Sen Gupta passed away on Thursday morning. He was suffering from cancer.
Gupta worked with the Times of India for more than 25 years. He started his career in journalism with Probe Magazine in 1982 and joined TOI in 1988, and after a short stint switched to The Sunday Observer.
In his second stint with TOI he worked with Economic Times and Times of India as Editor, Executive Editor and finally as Managing Editor.
Sharing his condolences, Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted, “An accomplished editor who was widely admired, Arindam Sengupta impacted many lives through journalism. Pained by his demise. RIP.”
Arun Jaitley, Minister of Information and Broadcasting tweeted, “Arindam Sengupta’s passing away is as great loss to Journalism. A complete professional and a perfect gentleman.”
Sharing his condolences, Minister of State for Information & Broadcasting, Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, said, “Saddened by untimely demise of Managing Editor of TOI Arindam Sengupta. Deep condolences.”
Senior Journalist, Rajdeep Sardesai, tweeted, “One of the last gentlemen of journalism: an editor of the old era with a passion for news Arindam Sengupta is no more. RIP.”
Chief Minsiter of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal tweeted, “Sad to hear the demise of Sh Arindam Sen Gupta, Managing Editor, TOI. He was a great human being n a journo. May his soul rest in peace”
