M. K Razdan to step down as PTI Editor-in-Chief
M.K. Razdan, who joined the PTI in 1965 has been its Editor-in-Chief for over two decades is all set to retire on September 30, 2016
According to reliable sources, Maharaj Krishen Razdan, popularly known as M.K. Razdan, who joined the PTI in 1965 and has been its Editor-in-Chief for over two decades is all set to retire on September 30, 2016.
Razdan, who has been one of the longest serving editors with the agency, has also been its Chief Operating Officer. Razdan became PTI’s General Manager in 1995, after serving the organization as its Bureau Chief in its one-member bureaus first in London, then New York. He superannuated subsequently to become PTI’s contractual CEO-cum- Editor-in-Chief.
Earlier few names were doing rounds as his possible successors and included-columnist and TV commentator Ashok Malik, Hindustan Times Executive Editor Shishir Gupta, and K.A. Badrinath formerly of the Financial Chronicle.
