Reporter’s Diary: Face2Face with the stars and truth of life

The run at exchange4media has been decently good for me in the last couple of weeks. I have made new friends, got my hands on video editing on Final Cut Pro after a long time. The edit studio at Lajpat Nagar has become the second office and Delhi Metro my second home!

New Year has surely arrived with lots of hopes, aspirations and challenges, but the last one week has definitely brought me closer to the harshest truth of life called death. The beginning of the week was indeed great as I attended the event organised by DT Cinemas for ‘No One Killed Jessica’, a movie that I am so excited to see! Though I hated travelling in the chilling cold in the night to attend the same, it was eventually nice to have done so as I met Rani Mukherjee, my all time favourite actor for her bold attitude and Vidya Balan, whom I have seen since the ‘Hum Paanch’ days.

The week was busy collating and putting stories on Face2Face, the events section that I report for, but last two days changed the calculations for the whole week. The last two days have taught me a lot about life, it’s unexpected and you never know when it’s your last moment. I had to write a tribute for first Mr Atul Maheshwari, MD, Amar Ujala, a man whose praises and remembrances the whole Internet is filled with, and then Amit Sharma, Business Head of 360 degrees, the events company, who was as charming as a new born. One was 55 years old and another just 37 years. Both of these amazingly nice people were guide and mentors to many people working with them. One was an inspiration for many and other, an epitome of positivity and every smiling demeanor. Writing these pieces had me in tears as I have myself lost my mentor, my guide at a very early stage in life.
Though I was with Brent Sir just for five months, his lessons are still fresh in my mind. I can just imagine what a loss it is for people for whom both these souls were mentors, guides and inspirations.

In the run of work and fast pace of life, I feel we have forgotten to realise that life is too short. Stay happy every moment, and make sure you are not stressing yourself out, nothing is more important than health and a healthy body. I just hope that rest of the year keeps everyone healthy and safe.

In the end, sharing words told to me by my mentor Brent Sir: “Whatever is it, don’t forget to thank God everyday that you are alive!!!”
