Nitish Kumar is Forbes India Person of the Year 2010

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who is widely believed to have turned around the fortune of the state and considered a beacon of the developmental politics, was declared Forbes India Person of the Year 2010 at an event in Delhi on December 17, 2010.

On the occasion, Forbes India also unveiled its year-end special issue. The event also brought together India’s biggest corporate honchos and thought leaders, where they took part in a discussion on ‘The advice that stayed with me’.

Speaking at the event, Indrajit Gupta, Editor, Forbes India, said, “Through this initiative, we would like to celebrate the incredible achievements of those who grace our Forbes India Person of the Year shortlist. We have explored the concept of mentoring that helped each of these high achievers excel in their discipline. Through events such as this, we have tried to make our stories truly come alive by creating a platform where India’s biggest leaders interact and share learnings directly with the readers of Forbes India.

The evening saw in attendance interesting combinations of mentors and those whom they have mentored featuring KV Kamath, Non-Executive Chairman ICICI Bank; Chanda Kochhar, MD and CEO ICICI Bank; and K Ramkumar, Executive Director, ICICI Bank.

Other participants included Raman Roy, Chairman and MD, Quattro BPO Solutions; Deep Kalra, makemytrip.com; Michael Ferreira and Aditya Mehta; coach Stanislav Lapidus and ace shooter Gagan Narang and boxer Vijendar Singh. The event was anchored by Senthil Chengalvarayan, President and Editorial Director, Network18.
