Bharti Airtel, Singtel, Warburg Pincus in talks to buy 61% stake in Dish TV: Report

Bharti Airtel, Singtel and Warburg Pincus are said to be in talks to acquire 61 per cent stake in Dish TV, according to media reports.
Once the deal is done, Bharti Airtel’s digital TV business will be combined with Dish TV through a reverse merger.
The present stakeholders of Dish TV are looking for liquidity once the merger is done.
Essel Group’s total debt now stands at Rs 17,174 crore and this includes debts of unlisted private and listed companies.
A news report quoted a source as saying: “The negotiations (for Dish TV) are around the valuations, with an expected offer at over Rs 50 a share for the promoter stake.” The deal is expected to be done in 2 months, the same source said.
