BBC Global News hosts its first ‘Upfront’ event in India
The event with the theme – The Power of an Authentic Voice – is meant to bring together movers and shakers from India’s media and advertising industries
BBC Global News will be launching two new premium collections on BBC.com in 2020
BBC Global News, which owns and operates BBC World News and BBC.com, hosted its first-ever Upfront events in Delhi on Tuesday and the Mumbai event will be held on Thursday.
The theme of the events is ‘The Power of an Authentic Voice’ and will bring together movers and shakers from India’s media and advertising industries, and see BBC Global News showcasing a range of its forthcoming content, partnerships and initiatives.
BBC Global News will be launching two new premium collections on BBC.com in 2020.
While BBC Future You will focus on wellness, BBC Future Planet revolves around sustainability. Both aim to give brands access to a hyper-targeted, engaged audience whilst cutting through the fads, buzzwords and pseudoscience often associated with the subjects by offering audiences evidence, facts and authenticity.
Guests at the Upfronts will have the opportunity to take a closer look at ‘Audio: Activated’ - BBC Global News’ new research on how people engage with branded podcasts and how this applies to the Indian market.
The research provides proof that branded podcasts are an effective means of advertising and a powerful addition to the marketing mix, generating real cut-through with audiences – even ad avoiders.
The highlights in the upcoming content for BBC World News and BBC.com will also be explored, from a Talking Movies Bollywood Special with actor Shah Rukh Khan, to Indian Sports Woman of the Year and a three-part series Rhythms of India, which explores the cultural history of Indian music.
Vishal Bhatnagar, Sales Director, South Asia at BBC Global News, said: “These initiatives all rely on the authentic voice that the BBC has been world-renowned throughout its existence. Audio is an area in which we’ve been at the forefront for almost 100 years, and these projects show our continuing commitment to India and our innovation and ambition to be the best news organisation in the world, both for audiences and commercial partners.”For more updates, be socially connected with us on
