Wishfin bolsters marketing team with key new hires

Wishfin, one of India’s leading financial marketplaces, has announced developments in the company’s management team with key new hires to support its expansion. Reem Saied has joined the team as Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) to scale and strengthen its multi-channel marketing algorithms. Joining the investment marketplace business are Bhartendra Singh as Head of Product for Investment Marketplace and Insurance, and Kousik Chatterjee as Head of Sales and Operations of Investment Marketplace.

Saied comes to Wishfin with more than a decade’s experience in digital advertising. He was previously India Head of Cadreon, Programmatic Advertising arm of IPG Mediabrands. He had turned Cadreon into a leader in Programmatic advertising for the Indian market working with major brands like Amazon India, J&J, Coca-cola, Mahindra & Mahindra, Tourism Australia, MAX Life, Aditya Birla's MyUniverse and AMEX. Prior to that, he worked with Interactive Avenues as a founding member. Saied helped Interactive Avenues reach scale in less than 18 months, where it represented 25 per cent of India's digital ad spends making it the country's largest independent agency in less than two years of starting up. Key to its success was the launch of ICICI Bank’s e-sourcing programme for credit cards, which Saied helped scale to become India’s largest financial service campaign online. He also managed the digital media spends for HDFC Standard Life and ICICIDirect. His deep experience in working across agency demand side and publisher supply side from the ground up has allowed him to approach and solve digital marketing problems from both sides of the ecosystem with a special focus on Banking and Finance brands.

“Reem is one of the ‘thought leaders’ in the industry, and we are excited to have him join as part of the core leadership team, as our CMO. He is aligned with our vision of using technology to take financial products to the last mile, enabling wishes. We will work together tirelessly to help every Indian make responsible financial decision,” said Puru Vashishtha, Board Chairman, Mywish Marketplaces Private Limited.

“I was attracted by the ambitious vision of Wishfin and the technology and algorithms that it has developed to build one of the largest consumer tech company in India, without burning money. It is unique. This is a unique opportunity for me as the role allows me to merge finance marketing with programmatic advertising, something that I am passionate about,” said Saied.

A few months back, Wishfin had hired Neil Dixit as Head of Brand Marketing, and Jai Beban as Design Head. Dixit previously had a unique blend of creative and brand experience, when he led the creative brand solutions team at Zapak (Reliance Entertainment). At Zapak, he strategized and executed marquee brand campaigns for the likes of Axe, Pepsi, Gillette, Mahindra, and Bollywood blockbusters such as 3 Idiots. Similarly Jai Beban, an NID alumnus, had previously worked with companies such as IBM, TATA, and Vodafone. He has in-depth understanding of Human Computer Interaction (HCI) that he will be leveraging to build next generation of fintech design for Indian customers.

Bharatendra Singh joins as Head of Product for Investment and Insurance Marketplace, where he will be responsible for leveraging Wishfin’s technology to build a distribution platform to enable mutual fund transactions online. Singh comes from ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund, where he was Product Manager for online customer acquisition, generating Rs 900 crore of business in last one year. Prior to that, he was responsible for building the online Mutual Fund platform of Canara Robeco from scratch and took the online AUM to Rs 100 crore. Previously, he was Product Manager of online Health Insurance at ICICI Lombard.

Kousik Chatterjee joins Wishfin as Head of Sales and Operations of Investment Marketplace. He will be focused on driving growth and enabling the transactions. Chatterjee has significant experience in mutual fund distribution in both B2B and B2C spaces. His previous assignment was with ICICI Direct, where he was Regional Head for East and South India region. He brings deep insights in mutual fund sales to retail customers, which Wishfin plans to leverage to augment their algorithms for investment products.

The new leadership team is aligned to take Wishfin into the next phase of growth. “We are disrupting finance by using technology, and by making finance as easy for our customers as sliding a button,” said Puru Vashishtha, Board Chairman, Mywish Marketplaces. He further added, “With such a high quality leadership team across verticals, we look forward to enabling wishes of millions of customers, while growing fast and profitably.”
