The Chinese mobile handset maker, Vivo and Bollywood actor, Ranveer Singh will part ways after a 2 year endorsement collaboration. Although Vivo did not disclose the reason for ending this collaboration, reports suggest that actor, Aamir Khan will be stepping in as the new brand ambassador.
In a statement on the ending of their partnership with Ranveer Singh, Vivo India said, âRanveer Singh and Vivo India have had an exciting and productive association for the past two years. The relationship aided Vivo India in generating mass brand awareness that has set our products apart from the competition in the Indian smartphone market. The brand has evolved significantly since its launch in India and has aggressive consolidation plans that will boost future growth. Vivo India is thankful to Ranveer for being an invaluable and integral part of the Vivo India journey so far.â
According to information from research firm IDC, Vivo rose to third position after dropping to fourth in the last quarter of 2017, but here was a 41 per cent decline in Vivoâs shipments in India the previous quarter. The company is ranked third with regards to smartphone shipment, with a 6.5 per cent share in India, while Xiaomi has 26.8 per cent and Samsung has 24.2 per cent.
